In the age of endless scrolling, capturing attention is difficult. I utilized high-paced 'retention editing' techniques—dynamic captions, b-roll overlays, and precise cuts—to transform standard talking-head videos into engaging narratives that maximize watch time and algorithmic reach.

To combat viewer fatigue in short-form content, I implemented a 'Retention-First' editing strategy. This involves:
Dynamic Kinetic Typography: Using animated captions to highlight keywords and keep the viewer’s eyes moving.
Visual Pattern Interrupts: Inserting B-roll, icons, and grid overlays every 3-5 seconds to reset the viewer's attention span.
Pacing Control: Removing dead air and pauses to maintain high energy without overwhelming the narrative.
This approach is specifically designed to maximize 'Average View Duration' (AVD) on algorithm-driven platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
